Secret Stitching Sweetheart 2024

Hello and Welcome to the 2024 Edition of Jo's Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop! I'm doing a very sneaky post at work, and as it's a busy day I don't have much time, so I kindly refer you to Jo's Post on the matter for the details on the hop :)

So now that you know what this is all about, let's dive right into it! The picture I was sent by my secret sweetheart was this:

It's very pretty, but I am not entirely sure *what* it is, to be honest - is it an elephant? Flowers? Japanese or Chinese letters? I want to know, so I hope that who ever stitched this will come forward and tell me soon!

Going back into work busy-busy mode now, I'll do my own hopping around over the next couple days, probably :)

Wow! Most intriguing! I would love to find out more about this design. Not mine.

Hi Leonore. I am the one who sent you that mysterious love.😁
The red character “愛” is the Kanji that represents love in Japan.
The design around the letters was sewn exactly as I imagined it in my head. Colors other that Kanji are Ukrainian colors. I sewed this year’s love them because I wanted to dedicate it to peace.
Sorry for the difficult to understand work.😅
Happy Valentine.💝

It is always delightful to see something different and meaningful. Having visited Toki's blog just before this one I suspected this delightful stitch was Toki's. Please to guess one correctly.

Have a lovely day, Leonore! I work too but later today. It's a pretty piece of stitching and I see right above my comment who stitched it❤️

Thanks for taking part in the Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop this year.
This was actually one of my favourite pieces sent in this year so I am glad Toki was able to explain the symbolism behind it too.

What an interesting design! I love that Toki explained what the character meant. What a kind memorial to the Ukranine people! Happy Valentine's Day!
